One World One Dream

Finally!!! we arrived in BEIJING after our long, delayed flight. Luckily, Teresa and I had the whole 4 seat row to ourselves. I have pictures of us just sprawled out over each other. When we walked into the airport, it was huge. I guess it's a new one, so it was really impressive. The guy that drove us to our hotel didn't speak english what so ever, so my dad communicated with him through hand motions. The sky always looks like its in overcast but it is hotter than heck over here. It's so humid and hot that I was sweating from just walking across the street to the mall.

Everything here is about the Olympics. Signs are everywhere, places you wouldn't expect. It's really cool to know that I am here, at the OLYMPICS!!! The slogan is one world one dream, and I'm trying to figure out how to write it in chinese :) After we got to our apartment (super nice), we went to the Bank of America village place, where we can just hang out. Free food, free tickets, free iternet, and maybe even to see some famous athletes with their families!

I'm still really tired from the flight but I think I'll be able to make it through our first Olympic game this morning. (beach volleyball - walsh and may)

PS. Speedo was carrying around some US Olympic wear this morning that he must have found in Charlie's room ... sends a big good luck growl.

Peg and all... sounds surreal! Your descriptions and the few clips from TV coverage give a great idea of what it's like. The Family Center seems like such a great idea. I met Nicole Branagh's parents last week and told them to look for you guys. If you watch anymore beach volleyball, go say hello. Great extended family (brother works with John French..) and Nicole went to Miramonte. Hope the weather clears up cuz it looks great in the sunshine! Great job on the first game and we'll try to find it on TV this am...
